Letters from Iwo Jima is a war film that shows one of the key battles of World War 2 through the perspective of the Japanese soldiers. In the beginning the island of Iwo Jima is predicted to be attacked by the United States and therefore the Japanese military is preparing for this attack. They prepare for the attack by digging ditches and assembling their weapons. Over the course of the film, many of the Japanese soldiers are writing letters to their loved ones telling them about their experiences of the war. During the film the Americans attack and a very grueling military battle takes place. Many soldiers are getting wounded and killed in the process.
